Recently besides the 30% federal tax credit and the large incentives in California, a very strong financing tool has arrived from Wallstreet, The Power Purchase Agreement or PPA is basically where a third party finances, installs and maintains a commercial photovoltaic solar system on the customers roof. The customer pays nothing!!! However, in exchange the customer agrees to buy power from the third party who financed the solar energy system at a reduced rate on their roof for a period of 10, 15 or 20 years. The commercial solar system can be bought out at the end of the term or the length of the term may be extended if the customer desires.
